The little stickers on fruits

There is a little sticker on the fruits in supermarket. It tells you the fruits is conventional grown, or organic or genetically modified (GM). There are many benefits to knowing this information:

• The health risks -- GM foods have been in stores only since the 1990s, so the long-term health risks are unknown

• The environmental risks -- Scientists are concerned that GMOs will reduce biodiversity

• The taste benefits -- People agree that the range of possible flavors is greater without a few GM foods crowding out the many natural varieties

Here’s what you should look for:
• A four-digit number means the produce is conventionally grown

• A five-digit number beginning with 9 means it's organic

• A five-digit number beginning with 8 means it's GM

So, look the numbers when you shop the supermarket next time.

Happy Lunar New Year !

Traditionally the Chinese celebrate lunar New Year for 15 days. People will be off the work, no matter what kind of work you do. This is a period of time people go out visiting parents, elders, families, friends talking something personal, not business. If you don't have time seeing your elders in your family, you should go now bring a gift with you to show how you care about him or her. People will also reach out to see some less fortune family members bring some food or even money to start a good new Year. This is how the concept of "red envelope" comes out. The red color means good luck in Chinese culture. You can put some money in the red envelope and give to a less fortune person and do not show the money to embarrass this person in the same time.

So, we , 99 RAnch Market, wish you a Happy New Year again. Meanwhile, we've prepared lots of items with slashed prices for you to treat you family and friends well.

Thank you and enjoy the saving when shopping with us.
